Promo for LIFE with never-seen-before footage [VIDEO]

Found on Canada’s network Global TV, here’s a little promo video for LIFE that does include some never-seen-before footage. I’m not really sure if they’re aware of it, because it doesn’t makes much sense to use such footage to promote the show, but either way, for any fans of the show out there this is great news !

This video does use footage from an early pilot done with different cast members, namely Claudia Black as Charlie’s ex-wife Jennifer and Melissa Sagemiller as Charlie’s lawyer, Constance Griffiths. And looking at this video, I can see why they decided to recast those roles and I’m pretty happy they did so, because the tones and attitudes just aren’t right here.

Constance seems just out of it, not caring, like it’s a joke or something, it’s totally off. As for Jennifer, she doesn’t look like she now does on the show, like she truly believed Charlie was guilty and moved on, has given up on him, their relationship, whatever they shared, and is not willing to let herself go back there and wonder about “what if”.

Summary of Let Her Go

Air Date: Wednesday, October 10, 2007
Time Slot: 10:00 PM-11:00 PM EST on NBC
Episode Title: (#103) “LET HER GO”

10/10/2007 (10:00PM - 10:59PM) (Wednesday) : A CARJACKING HOMICIDE HAS DETECTIVE CHARLIE CREWS AND DANI REESE ON THE HUNT Crews (Damian Lewis) and Reese (Sarah Shahi) investigate a standard carjacking homicide involving a husband and wife. The case seems like a slam-dunk until they ask the husband to ID the suspected killer. The husband refuses to ID the suspect allowing him to walk free. Confused by this, Crews and Reese work to figure out what the husband is hiding. And, despite counsel from his lawyer Constance Griffiths (Brooke Langton), Crews pays a visit to the detective who oversaw his murder investigation. Adam Arkin and Robin Weigert also star.

The future for the Crews/Reese relationship

If one thing has become more and more obvious with each episode of LIFE, it is that the relationship between Charlie & Dani is at the center of everything, almost. And as usual when, on a TV show, a male and a female are brought together, people start to wonder about a love connection.

Now I’ll be honest with you, I really pray that they never go there. I know it’s a pretty common thing on TV, but first of all in real life we got plenty of men and women working together and never even thinking about becoming more than just colleagues, and more importantly I think it would be bad for the show. I love both Charlie and Dani, and I love their relationship, which is a very special and evolving one, but I just don’t think they’re going there, nor should they.

But that’s me, of course, so let’s see what the people involved have to say about this. Now, I should warn you if you’re allergic to anything even remotely close to a spoiler, the following will use quotes from interviews of Sarah Shahi, Damian Lewis, and creator/showrunner Rand Ravich. For the later, he does talk about the future of the show and what may or may not be coming. It doesn’t go into details, but there are indications of things to come. (Of course, I’ll use the spoiler tag when needed.)

Vote for LIFE !

Zap2it’s TV Gal, Amy Amatangelo, is having her very own “Amy Awards”, looking back at this quite unusual yet filled with greatness season, and among the nominees can be found our very own LIFE, of course, competing in the “You Had My DVR at Hello or Best New Show” category.

LIFE is up with CHUCK, ELI STONE, DIRTY SEXY MONEY and PUSHING DAISIES, but if some of those shows are really good, I think it’s a no-brainer : LIFE is the best. So go take the fun poll now and vote for LIFE (and plenty other things), let’s show the world what they might be missing on if they don’t watch LIFE !
