Music of Pilot: Merit Badge

First off, as this is the first post about music : It’s all about the actual music heard on the show during its first airing, NOT during NBC’s “rewind version”, for which some songs are replaced by others (who cost less). To tell you the truth I’m in fact disgusted that NBC is actually doing this, especially given how the music on LIFE is almost as important as everything else.

Like Los Angeles is a character on the show, clearly the music is a voice. The music selection is absolutely fantastic, they are doing one Hell of a job picking great songs that suits perfectly the moments and emotions of the different scenes, and to replace songs - I don’t even care by what you replace them with, the simple act of replacing even one of them - is a disgrace. To me there is only one version worth “hearing” of the episodes, only one version that should exists : the original version.

So when talking about music from the episodes, I’ll only focus on the music aired during the “real” episode, not their “rewind version”.

That said, here’s the information I could gather about the music on this episode :

- At 12:56, “I’m not attached to this car” : Single Sedative, by Eastern Conference Champions. Can be found on Ameritown (Buy the MP3).

- At 20:50, Charlie runs to his room with a girl : Jique, by Brazilian Girls. Can be found on Talk To La Bomb (Buy the MP3).

- At 40:10, Charlie gets back home, adds new evidence to his “conspiracy wall” : Dream Awake, by The Frames. Can be found on Burn The Maps (Buy the MP3).
